Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg, raised in Wellington and made her stage debut in the role of Flora McGrath when she played the role as Flora in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 years old for Best Supporting Actress. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin born July 24 the 24th of July, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster in the category of Best Supporting actress for acting as the bright and interesting child of Holly Hunter's lead character in The Piano. The character of Flora McGrath - the daughter to an Scottish mute pianist in New Zealand at mid-19th Century - was won by her at an audition open to all. When she was nine years old the actress had any experience in acting. When she was in her teens, the actress moved to America. Paquin was the main character in Fly Away Home in 1996 and had a minor part in the film as Jane Eyre as only a child. Paquin had a small role in the 1997 TV movie adaptation of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. She also played the Princess of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She portrayed teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) and A Walk on the Moon (2000). She played the role of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
