Jessica Chastain

JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain, born March 24, 1977, is an American actress. She is well-known for her roles in films that feature female-centric themes. She has won a variety of awards which include an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine listed her as one of the 100 most influential individuals around the globe in 2012. Chastain began to develop an interest in acting at a young age and made her stage debut in 1998 as Shakespeare's Juliet. She studied acting at Juilliard School and was then contracted to a talent holding deal with John Wells, a television producer. She appeared as a regular guest star on several TV shows, and also took on the roles in several stage productions. Chastain's debut film was Jolene (2008) when she was the age of 31 years old. In 2011, Chastain achieved her breakthrough by releasing six films which included The Tree of Life (2011), Take Shelter (2011) and The Tree of Life (2012). She earned Academy Award nominations for playing an uninitiated socialite in period drama The Help (2011) and as a CIA analyst in the suspense thriller Zero Dark Thirty (2012). More commercial success was seen in the science-fiction films Interstellar (2014) and The Martian (2015), and the horror movie It Chapter Two (2019). Chastain was also praised for her role as a strong-willed woman in the dramas A Very Violent Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016) and Molly's Game (2017), and the television miniseries Scenes from a Marriage (2021). In the biopic The Eyes of Tammy Faye (1921) she played Tammy Faye Bakker. She took home the Academy Award as Best Actress. Tammy Wynette was the miniseries George & Tammy (222). Chastain has founded Freckle Films to promote diversity in film production. She is also an investor in Angel City FC. She is vocal about mental health issues, as in relation to gender and racial equality. Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo (fashion executive) is her spouse.
